Da GOAT'S teams flying under the "ATS RADAR" this year

Got a couple of teams that look to be flying under the radar this year than no one is talking about, at least early on.

1. Arkansas

2. Vandy

3. Duke

4. South Florida

5. UCONN

6. UNC

7. Kansas

8. Utah

9. TCU

10. The Bemedji St. Fighting Beavers

Watch for these teams as the season grinds on, if you have one, add it to the list of leave a comment for discussion.

Enjoy,
Da GOAT

First off, welcome back Goat. Looking forward to disagreeing with you all year, regardless of my actual opinion.

Secondly, you now owe me a new computer...mine is covered in puke after reading your 11-1 prediction for Ole Miss this year.

Thirdly....Love Arkansas this year. They will air it out and the QB is the heir apparent to College football's strongest arm. Absolute cannon on that kid(BTW, Stafford looks definitively terrible for the lions) So I would agree, they are one to watch.

Lastly....which is it? The Big 12 has exceptionally good offenses, or exceptionally poor defenses? This glaring contradiction in your mindset is diminishing what little credibility you have in big 12 country. In a confernece where over 80% of the teams run hurryup offenses, 4 out the top 5 QBs in the NATION play, ahhh fuck it....you are hopeless. Enjoy watching the EXCITING BIG TEN...where fubmle recoveries and interceptions are the primary means of scoring.

Good luck to you this year...I hope your children get enough to eat.

CHUMP-
I mean Chup-

Sorry about your computer, Verison Wireless has a "Bing" computer that is $199 with build in internet, so you will never be to far away from this site! It is very small like yourself so it should work nicely!

Actually the BIG 12 has both. The offense's are the best in the country hands down, but the defenses are horrible. Last yr. their defenses averaged a 78 or below, average ranking in all catergories of Total defense, while the offense's were consistently Top 10-15. Your right, thier is "Glaring contradiction" in my mindset, but for good reason, the track record for the Big 12 speaks for itself.

Finally, Although I am currently in PA, and I will be forced to watch Big 10 football, I have already called Direct TV and ordered a Satelitte dish so that I will not be stuck watching 3 yrds a "cloud of dust".....

Tootles,
Da GOAT

jesus goat...don't you think playing the best offenses in the country every week might afect the defensive statisitics upon which you so heavily rely? how did you read my post and not grasp that?

I grasped it Chup. I just also noted that your Longhorns STRUGGLED with Ohio State, for Jesus sake! Then T-Tech got DISMANTLED by Ole' Damn MISS, and god bless Oklahoma, No dang defense was thier demise as well. Defense wins championships...maybe the Big 12 figures that out this year!

uh...so we are abandoning regular season stats and moving on to bowl records? I feel like I'm kicking feildgoals at a goal post attached to a rotisserie.

the discussion gets muddled beyond comprehension from here. Not that it was going anywhere to begin with.

The big ten, "a defensive conference", has the worst collective record in bowl games against other BCS teams over the last 5 years.

I don't think we watched the same national championship game. I think it was 7-7 at halftime (Tebow had two picks in the first quarter and finished 18 for 30)and 14-14 early in the fourth quarter... the game was widely decribed as a defensive battle with both teams' offenses struggling to match their regular season potency.

This conversation is a grease fire, doughnut grease at that. You have to see both sides, it can be argued that the Big 12 has such awful defensive stats because they play such great offenses week in and week out, but conversely to that you could also argue that the Big 12 has such great offensive stats because they play such awful defenses week in and week out. So touche'.

Next, Arkansas in my opinion is another year away from the hints of success that Bobby Petrino had at Lousiville, they will suprise some teams this year, don't get me wrong, and with the recruiting base, and money that Petrino has at Arkansas, he could accomplish great things that he just couldn't get done at Louisville, so watch out, but I don't think this is the year.

I, likewise, am not drinking the Ole Miss Kool-Aid, that the goat keeps dishing out. Don't get me wrong, I think they will be good, but I just don't buy it as of yet. We'll see, but the trends are against them, and Da Goat knows all about trends.

Lastly, I am beginning to smell an implosion of great magnitude by one of the members of the AP Top Five this year, I just can't put my finger on who it could be, maybe Bama, maybe USC, maybe Oklahoma, but I do believe as it stands right now, there isn't much to argue outside of, what's for lunch at the Rose Bowl when Texas meets Florida for the NC.
