GOAT Faithful,
Nice weekend going 6-3 overall, did better than we have been and now it's time to reflect upon the last week's debacle that was tackle football, college style!
1. Tebow must have sinned at some point during the week, because GOD had him BLOWN UP on Saturday...DANG! If he wasn't then, I bet he's "God Fearing" now..
2. Like i said before, Miami did not deserve a high ranking...that was short lived
3. About FSU and their Saturday performance....I quote the guy from "Waterboy"...
"WE SUCK AGAIN!!!"
4. Oregon is money at home...and get them on the road and you may have a "Fight" on your hands.
5. Bama is probably the best team in the country
6. Stanford is pretty good, at home anyway
7. Penn St. was exposed, and they are typical Big 10
8. Iowa is a good football team, in the Big 10, maybe outside as well...
9. Miss St. has an offensive coordinator that needs to be fired.
10. Houston may go undefeated and be a BCS Buster
11. I was drinking the "Ole Miss" Kool-aid, it sucked, they suck, and the Ole’ Ball Coach finally has a decent football team, watch out SC might get rolling!
12. Ohio St. had a big win against illinois…..they still suck, sorry...
13. ND has the “Luck -o- The Irish”, how long will it last?
14. Colt McCoy is racking up the stats…just give that guy the trophy already and spare the trip to NY
15. Defensive “Genius” Gene Chezik is racking up gaudy stats and has Auburn scoring in droves…but the SEC is built on defense, better find some before going to “Rocky Top” this week, “Guru”…
That’s all I got for now, picks coming later on in the week.
*Also, My public apology to follower "Buddy D", I'm sorry I didn't get your info/comment from you in a timely manner. My count has my posted picks at 9-4 for this past week forthe games you requested. Don't know if it would have been strong enough, but get me the info this week, I will do my best to help you out*
Enjoy,
Da GOAT

Week 3 in the world of college tackle football
GOAT faithful,
For the second week in a row, I did very poorly. We did hit Iowa which kept us above water, but right now I am very COLD. Everyone goes thru rough patches, and here is mine! What great timing! I will still keep at it though, as I again remind you this is a marathon, and not a sprint! Week 3 was interesting to say the least and would like to take this time to discuss my opinion of the weekend that was. Everyone does a “Contender/Pretender” bit, and I have my own “HOT/NOT” list….so, here goes…
HOT LIST:
1. Alabama
HOT- The Tide is rolling right now, hitting on all cylinders, but have a big test this weekend in Arkansas. Da GOAT thinks this game is a lot closer then the “Sharps” think it’s going to be. Lots of tough games left, but give me Saban and this talent and I think BAMA NATION will be just fine in the end….
2. Florida
HOT- The only reason they get the “Hot” nod, is for there “Non-loss” to Tennessee. Not only did they not cover the spread, but Florida looked VERY venerable in this game. I personally think that Tennessee beat themselves more than Florida beat Tennessee. I give a lot of credit to Lane Kiffon, for having his team ready and believing they could do the unthinkable. A couple of breaks and this is the story of the weekend, if not the year. Eric Berry is as good as advertised, but Tebow did DUMPTRUCK him in this game. This may get VERY interesting late in the season, as this team could stub there toe…stay tuned
3. FSU
HOT-Holy Toledo Batman! Just when everyone outside of Tallahassee threw the towel in on my beloved NOLES, they jump up and bunch “BIG LOVE” in the MOUTH!!!! Not only was this game lopsided from the beginning, but FSU looked like a real contender. Don’t forget that if a TRUE FRESHMAN doesn’t drop the ball in the end zone, we are 3-0 and ranked probably in the top 10. But, that’s what happens on Saturday’s and it’s water under the bridge now. If we play like we played against BYU the entire season, we could make some REAL NOISE in the end. I will be interested to see how we bounce back this week; against a good South Florida team minus Matt Grothe (I hope he had a PHAT insurance policy).
4. THE U
HOT- Jacory Harris is for real. Miami’s Defense is for real. Whipple is for real. Shannon is for real. But is MIAMI as a whole for real? I think that this week is the real test for this team, as Blacksburg is tough place to play. If this were a night game, I would give Miami NO SHOT, but V-Tech just came off of an emotional win against Nebraska, and will have to get up for this game. If Miami can go into Blacksburg and win, WATCH OUT. I think they have played like a top 10 ball club, but I don’t think they need to be ranked there just yet. They still have V-Tech and Oklahoma, and if they past those tests then move them WAY UP, but not just yet. Are they back? Maybe, but if you think they are why not FSU? Time will tell for this team, the sky is the limit right now.
5. Washington Huskies
HOT- Steve Sarkisian and Jake Locker. Not only have they already won more games than last year, but they took down the “Men of Troy” and looked pretty good doing it. Sarkisian has to stay on top of this team, as they are due for a “let down” this week going to GIAT KILLER Stanford, so we will see how Steve handles the pressure. BTW- Back to the last week discussion. Now answer me this…. How does Washington stop the #3 ranked team in the country for 4 quarters, but can’t stop the #119 team from going 97 yards and “back door covering”? FIXED I TELL YOU!!!!!
The NOT SO HOT Top 5:
1. USC
NOT- Pete, for the second year in a row, you beat OSU (not a big feat here lately) and then shits the bed in the game right after that. TWO YEARS IN A ROW! Damn it Pete, quit surfing and start coaching you goofy bastard! You’re killing me! I know, Aaron Corp sucks, but give me Joe McKnight, 35 carries, and that O-Line, and I can do REAL DAMAGE to Washington! Not to mention, I know you saw Idaho do it! Watch game film, instead of “Baywatch” re-runs! You are an absolute class act, but you can’t coach yourself out of a paper sack the third week of the season! I am interested to see how this team reacts and if they can still make a run.
2. Ohio State
NOT- I just put you on the list to say again….YOU SUCK. That’s all. Oh and nice work against Toledo, or Temple or whoever the hell else you were playing. I look forward to you guys playing someone with a heart beat in the near future so I can bash you some more!
3. North Texas
NOT- I should have known better. Back to reality. All 16 people in Denton, TX are now $49.99 short on the rent because of the PPV, and you’re back to being a “P-ON” again. Ya’ll are NOT a “GREEN MACHINE” but rather an “OUT OF CONTROL TIRE FIRE”….Good God man! Ya’ll should petition the university to change your mascot to the “A FLAMING MICHELIN MAN”!!!! ”Everything in Texas is big”....Like your point spreads and your margin’s of losses.
4. Georgia Tech
NOT- Hand it to this guy, hand it to that guy, confuse the hell out of everyone, and then get your ass HANDED TO YOU. Da GOAT was high on this team, but the more I watch them play, the more I see that they can’t play. Coach Johnson, this offense was great at Navy or Air Farse or wherever you came from, but not here, not anymore. Nesbitt is a “basket case” with an out of control throwing shoulder, and I think your offense even confuses you sometimes. Good luck the rest of the way, because at the rate you’re going, you might need a HAND…from another coach on the staff…
5. Urban Meyer
NOT- You know, I think Urban is a great coach, and probably a great individual, but his latest act was “classless”. I have never seen a coach make excuses for a WIN?!?! Did I miss something? You won the game. You have the best QB/Virgin in the country. You have 11 starters back on defense. Yet you still felt the need to take a jab at Tennessee after you beat them on Saturday, by saying you didn’t win BIG because you had “Sick players”?!? NO SIR. What you should have said, was that you were: “Out Played”, and dare I say…”Out Coached” by Lane Kiffon and Tennessee? Yep, that WAS the case. I commend Kiffon for firing back at you, and you deserve all the criticism that is thrown your way. From this point forward, don’t make excuses, just go out and play and let the game do the talking. I really thought you were a “class act”, but I’m beginning to think you’re nothing more than a “pompas ass” with a great QB to hide behind, kinda like when you were at UTAH with Alex Smith..HMMM.
Those are the GOAT’s top 5 of each from this past weekend. Good slate for the upcoming week, so stay tuned…
BTW- I found out that Tim Tebow has a sushi roll named after him by a local restaurant in Gainsville, FL. It is called the “Tim TeROLL”. The real version contained “marbles, gravel, arsenic, HGH, OMG, WTF, kryptonite, frosted flakes, and Fix -a- Flat”. It was replaced with a scaled down version after the restaurant figured out that Tebow was the only on that could actually eat it with the original ingredients. I was told it’s a hit with the locals, and ironically enough and contrary to popular belief about sushi, this roll is NOT a natural aphrodisiac….go figure?
Till next time, stay up!

GOAT Faithful,
What it is! Last night Miami’s beating of the Jackets has the GOAT starting this week off on the right track. I am looking to improve on last week’s drubbing I took at the hands of Las Vegas. Got several games lined up this week and we will get to those in due time.
For the moment, it is time for the breakdown that has been dubbed “Clash of the Titans” by local Denton, TX experts in:
The “Pride of Denton, Tx.” vs. The “Pride of the State of Alabama”
WHEN: Saturday
WHERE: Tuscaloosa, AL
WHO: North Texas/Alabama
CAPACITY: 93,000
“Talent” METER: 10
LINE: 39.5
LEAN: GREEN MACHINE +40.0 (BTH)
On Saturday the world will stop and every TV in America will be tuned into to watch a true “David vs. Goliath” battle at 12:30. ESPN KNOWS this is a HUGE game (to some folks) as it will be on display on their respective network! (ESPN GAMEPLAN anyway). This game may pull a PPV record in the town of Denton as North Texas football has this tiny spot on God’s great earth excited like never before. All 16 people in Denton will be sitting in front of their neighbor’s TV to see one of the greatest upsets in college football history! Yep, Da GOAT said it! And here is how I think it plays out:
North Texas (DAVID)
It has been said that there are probably 40-50 high school football teams in Great state of Texas that could HOUSE North Texas in tackle football, and some even say that they do not belong in D-1 football. UNTIL THIS YEAR. Old….Uh…What’s his name (It doesn’t matter), will have this team ready to get rolled….er….ready to roll on Saturday when they visit Tuscaloosa, Alabama! North Texas opened the season going to Ball St. and pulling out a MONSTER win 17-10. They came home to couches burning and champagne falling from the sky (PBR being spilled from balconies). Ball St. , it seemed, woke up a sleeping giant. Then the Green Machine started their home season bid by getting hosed by Ohio 31-30. It took the mighty Bobcats of Ohio a full regulation game and 2 OT’S to get the job done, finally winning out on a 2 pt. conversion that the replay showed CLEARLY “might” have been no good if the player would have dropped the ball. The ONLY reason the GOAT believes that the GREEN MACHINE lost this ballgame was the weather! It was pouring rain, a monsoon even, and every time Ohio got the ball the rain let up (as well as the N. Texas defense).
Riley Dodge (you WILL forget this name) put up “Tom Brady” style numbers completing a mind boggling 12 of 20 for 117 yards and touchdown! It wasn’t until the “grass monster” took a cheap shot on Dodge, that “Mr. Denton” Nathan Tune (who?) got his shot and lit up the stat sheet completing 9 more passed for 69 more yards. These numbers appear to be skewed as stated before; a tropical storm was located over Denton, TX during this game. I have no idea who is going to be the starting QB for North Texas when the bus arrives in Tide Town, but either way the GREEN MACHINE is loaded at the quarterback position. Either guy is good and could probably be the starting QB at any school in the country not in D-1, and that is being conservative! If one of these guys a “hot hand” against the TIDE, WATCH OUT, because it could be a long day….
Cam Montgomery is a good a back as any 4th stringer in the country, and he had a great day against the Bobcats as well. He “Peterson’d” it for 88 yards on just 22 carries. That’s a 4 yard average, against a very stingy Ohio defense that was one of the top in the country last year ranking in the top 110 (109 respectively) in the country last year; the guy is a beast! I personally think that he could have broken the 100 yard mark with more carries, and less rain, and more time on the clock. Montgomery is a speedy guy who averages 6.1 yards per carry with a 25 long TD. He averages 118 yards a game and if he gets loose in the ‘Bama secondary, he has a chance to take it the distance provided no one gets in his way. North Texas is averaging 205 yards on the ground a game, and they need to get this going against Alabama, but this number may fall off ever so slightly against a decent Bama defense that ranks a lowly 3rd in the country.
Royce Hill will anchor a MEAN GREEN defense that will be getting after Bama all day on Saturday, especially in the first half. Hill has 2 interceptions this year and a host of tackles. Co-Anchor of the defense is Tobe Nwigwe (I have no idea how to pronounce it) who is an animal piling up 10 solo tackles in their near non-loss to Ohio.
Da GOAT feels that N. Texas has all the tools in place to get the job done against Alabama in the first half and think that if they play WAY above their heads, then the a 3rd quarter win is not out of the question. If they play WAY above their heads and bring ball bats and CHUCK NORRIS, they win the game out right….OR ELSE!
ALABAMA (Goliath)
On offense, the Tide look to Greg McElroy (not to be confused with “Roy McElvoy”) to guide the offense against the GREEN MACHINE. McElroy is a quite leader that comes in sporting a workman like stat sheet going 33/54 for 471 and 2 TD’s. I like McElroy; I think that he will continue to gel as the leader of the Tide and should do just enough in this game not to lose.
Trent Richardson (You should NOT forget this name) is going to be a star. He is a V12 jaguar; smooth and fast when you need it, powerful and strong when it counts. He is averaging 7.1 yards a carry with 2 TD’s one coming from 35 yards out. Mark Ingram, Roy Upchurch and Terry Grant with also share the touches, which may bode well for the Tide in the second half, where they should be able to wear down the North Texas defense.
The defense is strong, but does have a tendency to go to sleep at the wheel, giving up garbage when they shouldn’t…..and this is where NORTH TEXAS will be strong…GARBAGE TIME!
Look I like my “Kool-Aid” MEAN & GREEN, but I have to be a realist. North Texas will hang tough in this ball game, and will cover 40 points. Alabama is strong and in a difference class; and they do have a big non-conference game on the horizon with Arkansas the following week. I think if they fall asleep like they did against FIU last week, North Texas has the talent this year to do the unthinkable. I like North Texas to cover in this ballgame….GO GREEN MACHINE
Oh, yeah…the GIANT SIZE UPSET I was talking about earlier in the game, I just had to “hype” up game breakdown….unless CHUCK NORRIS shows up…
Enjoy,
Da GOAT

Oh, yeah…the GIANT SIZE UPSET I was talking about earlier in the game, I just had to “hype” up game breakdown….unless CHUCK NORRIS shows up…
Enjoy,
Da GOAT

What Sayeth Da' GOAT?
GOAT faithful,
I want to first apologize, I have been out of the loop with no internet signal while I’m staying in “God’s Country”. Hell, I don’t even have a phone signal! But anyway, I do want to update the crew on what’s been going on with the GOAT and give a shout out to “THE GREEN MACHINE” with a great effort on Saturday! 1-1 NEVER looked so good! I’m calling you 2-0 until further notice!
Last week was a BLOOD BATH, as the GOAT got destroyed…I couldn’t catch a break! I’ve put out an APB for “MY SHIRT”….and the “Washington Huskies” defense! Poor bastards cost me a backdoor cover, personally I think the “fix” was in, I mean, how do you hold a team to FG’s all day. Then with 2 minutes left you let IDAHO…F**KING I-DA-HO put together an 8 play 97 yard drive, scoring a TD with :07 seconds left to cover by .5?!?!?! FIXED I TELL YOU!!!! I’m still bitter….
Last week was a grease fire for several Teams, here’s Da GOAT’s TOP 5:
1. Okie St.
Mike “FUZZY” Grundy, you suck…and so does your defense…I hope you lose out…”You’re a man…you’re 40”…and should be ranked that in the country…Bunch of bumbling idiots..
2. Notre Dame
The Golden “I give” Domers made a liar out of “Drunk Uncle Lou”….again. “Touchdown Jesus”…HELL....how about “DEFENSE……JESUS?!!?!?” MEEECHIGAN is NOT GOOD…So I guess you’re worse than NOT GOOD…you’re HORRIBLE. Charlie Weiss, your “PANTS ARE ON FIRE” my friend…go ahead and change the name plate on the door to read “Brian Kelly”. I guess that “Interim” sign was the truth.
3. Tennessee
Lane you’re a f**cking “DOUCHE CANOE”, and I want to personally welcome you to the SWAMP… and GOAT faithful to….LAY THE POINTS. I guess you have never seen an UNDER ARMOUR commercial, because you damn sure didn’t practice the slogan “WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE”…Hell you got your head kicked in for 60 minutes in YOUR HOUSE by UCLA, the bottom feeder of the PAC-10, and it’s only going to get worse this week. I predict a 56-0 nothing ballgame, because you suck, and so does your team.
4. FSU
Dad Gum! Took every bit of those 60 minutes to dispatch JACKSONVILLE ST.?!?!? We’re horrible, we weren’t looking ahead, we ARE that bad. The Morman’s are going to beat us up like their 13 wives on hump day…glad I don’t get the channel the games going to be on…Jimbo + Bowden + Dad Gum = THIS IS GONNA GET UGLY.
5. THE University of Higher Education located in Columbus, OH
Da GOAT doesn’t give a rats ass that you “Played a good game” or that “you lost in the end”, you still lost, and you will forever suck. You cannot beat anyone with a heart beat outside of the Big 10. Face it, your garbage, plain and simple. Don’t blame Jim Tressel for playing conservative football. Blame Jim Tressel for not recruiting any talent. “The herd” said it best when he said “they simply get beat by better teams with better players”. You are now 0-forever against the PAC-10 and SEC. Not to mention, you let a freshman come into the “shoe” and lead a game winning, “Tom Brady style” drive to beat you. Good grief ya’ll are horrible. Of course the media still thinks that you should be ranked…I DON’T. Ya’ll are no better than Akron or Toledo, because you can beat up most in your conference, but the minute you step out against the BIG BOYS, you get “SKULL F**KED” all over the field. Dissolve the athletic program now, before it gets worse! Tressel, trade the vest for a plane ticket out of Columbus….
Da GOAT’s “Prime Time” players of the week:
1. Matt Barkley
2. Case Kellum
3. Tate Forcier
4. UCLA
5. Tim Tebow
6. Joe McKnight
7. Tiger Woods!
Da GOAT has put an APB out for: My Shirt, Alabama’s Defense, ND’s BCS bowl bid, Ohio St.’s talent, Okie St.’s defense, Washington’s cover, Tim Tebow’s girlfriend, Bobby Bowden’s retirement consultant.
Also:
I will be breaking down the N. Texas/Bama game tomorrow as promised, but “Open Mic” has been suspended for this week due to lack of internet service, so thank T-MOBILE. I cannot properly analysis the games, because I have no access to information. I will get some looks tomorrow or Friday during the day, so we should be prepared for the weekend! Feel free to ask for opinions on games, just not big write up’s this week ONLY. “Open Mic” will return next week!
As far as the MIAMI/G-TECH game tomorrow night, Da GOAT is leaning toward Miami at the moment. Miami showed us a lot against FSU, and have had 10 days to prepare for G-TECH, who tried to give their game away against Clemson. . G-TECH looked good in the first half against Clemson, but they’re offense was not the reason. They actually only scored 10 pts. In the first half, the rest coming off of Special Teams plays. Nesbit was a “Mess” every time he threw the ball, mostly because his “twards” was a little…well, WAY off…He could sand if he fell of a camel last week. Try that against Miami, and you will get HOUSED…
Now, I cannot ignore that “ROAD DOGS” are now 2-0 ATS with Clemson and South Carolina both covering on the road on Thursday Night. I will be looking at this game tomorrow and giving my play tomorrow evening after further analysis.
Enjoy,
Da GOAT

Open Mic Night
GOAT Faithful,
Finally turned it around this evening on the Teasers hitting a "Pucker" one tonight. Got several games lined up this weekend, with picks coming out tommorrow. I have been requested by "J" to breakdown the UNC/UCONN game, and I can tell you right now, I think this game gets UGLY, but which way? You'll have to wait until tommorrow to find out! Complete breakdown, anaylsis and pick will be provided. So far, Da GOAT is 1-0 on Open Mic predictions looking to keep it going!
Enjoy,

College Football week 1 recap.
Good evening GOAT faithful! Wow, what an opening weekend for college football this season! The week began with "SMASH MOUTH" football literally, thanks to Lagarrett Blount and the Oregon Ducks, and ended with a "PUNCH IN THE GUT" for the Da GOAT when my beloved Seminoles lost at the wire! Let's recap the weekend, shall we? (In no particular order)
1. NCSU, who was HYPED all off season, about how good "Russell Wilson" was gonna be and how good they we're gonna be, mustarded about as much offense as Da GOAT did this weekend, and got handled by South Carolina.
(Da GOAT'S Thursday Night ATS pick---SC +5.5--Cashed)
2. Oregon went to Smurfville, and got punished before and after the game, which begs the question...Is Chip Kelly ready for the big spot light as a head coach? What an "Oil Rig" fire Oregon was in this one.
3. "IF THE COUCH IS ON FIRE, LET THE MF'R BURN"!!!! This is the chant that can be heard from Thursday night until probably this Saturday in Denton, TX. The North Texas "Green Machine", after going 0'fer for what feels like forever, they go to Ball St. and get a big win! "Little Tommy Jefferson" and his crew of snotty nosed fart lighter's can't wait for there game against ALABAMA...Look out everybody, we might have awoken a "Sleeping Giant", or they will be pissing one off in Tuscaloosa, AL. Either way it should be good fun! (Da GOAT still feels that the N. Texas/Bama game will be a "Texas size ass whoopin" but we'll get to that later on)
3. Is there anything Greg Powlous(sp?) can't do? OK, well there is one thing, and that's NOT turn it over when the game is on the line....He looked good in their opener vs. Minnesota, until ultimately making a "Freshman" mistake by rushing a pass in OT and leading to the Gophers escaping with a win. Watch out though, might have a "Diamond in the Rough" here...
4. THE Ohio State University of Higher Learning showed what we all believed from day one....THEY ARE A FRAUD..... and will get exposed this coming Saturday against USC. Lay the points and get me a box of popcorn, because Da GOAT'S gonna enjoy this one! If Navy can do what they did to the OSU defense, then the USC game might get ugly...SPEED KILLS..stay tuned
5. Urban Meyer and "Everyones Favorite Virgin" finally found something they couldn't do...cover a 73 point spread and get laid by drunk naked sorority chicks in the same day.
6. Matt Barkley hardly looked like it was his first game ever in college football going 15-19, for 233 yards, and a TD. 8!?!?!....8 dang RB's for USC got touches, 4 or them scoring TD's against SJSU in a 56-3 smashing at the Coliseum.
7. "TOUCHDOWN JESUS" has risen in South Bend, Indiana! The scary part is that the defense actually looked good..and.....Clausen for Heisman!
8. Sam Bradford is broken, and so is the hopes and dreams of the Oklahoma faithful. Their NC hopes are in serious trouble after getting beat by BYU in their opener. Eli Manning even called to cheer up Bradford by telling him "Don't sweat it kid, you'll get $100 million from an NFL team anyway". As a result, the "Red River Shootout" looks to be a potential BLOW OUT...
9. Check the prior posts by Da GOAT, I never bought into the hype of VT, and as a result...CASH on this one laying -6.5! The "CRIMSON TIDE" rolled on Saturday night! The games score did not accurately reflect the actual game. Bama controlled all aspects of this game. They beat up Bud Foster's defense, stealing there "Lunch Box" and "Lunch Money", in what looked like a good old fashion school yard beating. Bama's offense rolled up nearly 500 yards and made it look easy at times. The special teams was the only thing that looked suspect, but I think Saban gets that corrected in a hurry...OR ELSE
10. Greg Shiano should have gotten out when he had the chance. However, he chose to stay at Rutger's and now, unless he gets a miracle, his career will end in Piscataway. As Da GOAT said all along, the best team in the Big East is clearly Cincinnati, and it's only a matter of time until Da GOAT cashes his OVER 6.5 wins for Cincy that was placed prior to the season starting. Cincy dominated this game from start to finish and Tony Pike was money as I thought he would be. Let's see if Cincy can keep it up, and Rutger's can keep from getting too far down.
11. Ron Zook is a "Dumpster Fire".....How in the hell, with all that talent, do you get BLOWN OUT by Mizzou in your opener?!?! Hope your planning your early retirement, because I can't see you roaming the sidelines much longer if you keep this up...
12. Willam & Mary & Richmond < Virginia & DUKE....Basketball is right around the corner!
13. Gene Chezik is 1-0 at Auburn....It won't last, this guy sucks....It's only a matter of time
14. 63-7, huh Mr. Lane Kiffon? Was it fun? Did you have a good time? Do you feel better about yourself? Well, get a good look at that scoreboard because when you go to the Swamp, it gonna be your ass on the receiving end of this one....and i can't wait!
15. Wide Left, Wide right, Wide Load, Wide Eyed, WIDE ASS OPEN! The rivalry that is FSU/Miami. Instant Classic as dubbed by ESPN, and it was! When the dust settled, Christian Ponder looked like a surgeon, Jacoby Harris looked like Vince Young, Mickey Andrews looked like a "LIAR" and Jimbo Fisher looked like a druken dumbass. My beloved Noles played a great game, but in the end, a dropped pass by a true freshman on the big stage with no time on the clock was our ultimate demise. Our D-line is the worst I have ever seen, which makes the secondary looked twice as bad. If we play like this against BYU, Max Hall will carve us up like Christmas turkeys. Gonna be a long year, and Ponder may be the only reason worth the watching this year!
Da GOAT'S "Prime Time" players of the weekend:
1. Tony Pike
2 . Christian Ponder
3. Jacory Harris
4. Javhid Best
5. Colt McCoy
6. Kellen Moore
7. Matt Barkley
8. The GEORGIA DB's
9. Mark Ingram
10. NORTH TEXAS
11. Jimmy Clausen
12 Robert Griffin III
Da GOAT "No So Prime Time" players
1. Lagarrette Blount
2. Oklahoma after Sam Bradford got hurt
3. North Carolina State
4. FSU Defense
5. Tyrod Taylor
6. VA TECH Defense
7. Greg Powlous in "The clutch"
8. Mickey Andrews
9. Lou Holtz
How we look on Posted Plays (YTD):
3-1 (ATS) (1-0 on Thursday night) (1-0 in "Big Game Picks")
0-1 (Flyer's)
4-4 (Teasers overall)
1-0 (Parlay)
Until Next time,
Da GOAT

"Float like a butterfly, sting like a DUCK"
Last night after Oregon was humbled on the "Smurf Turf" by Boise St., a bizarre scene erupted that lead to 24 hr. coverage and a year long suspension. When the dust settled and the teams were supposedly shaking hands after the game, a Boise St. player made a big mistake, followed by an Oregon player making an even bigger one. A full time bench player who will forever be recognized more on YOUTUBE.COM, then in real life, taunted Lagarrett Blount the starting RB for the Oregon Ducks, and was greeted with one of the BEST left crosses Da GOAT has ever seen. I mean a "Hay maker" for the ages. A left cross that rivals Roy Jones, Jr. and Mike Tyson respectively. A straight up GOOD NIGHT shot! But not only did this "punch for the ages" WRECK the Boise St. players jaw, it effectively RUINED Blounts collective college life. After punching the Boise St. player, Blount proceeded to get into a verbal altercation with the drunk "tater tossers" in the BSU crowd. This in turn lead to a scuffle with a security guard, a pushing match with a coach in the tunnel and a YEAR LONG SUSPENSION.
Now the question posed to DA GOAT is: "Does the punishment fit the crime?"
Well, here's my take.
Blount made a very poor decision in hitting the jackass back-up for BSU, but the real problem was the aftermath. Had Blount just rocked the BSU player and gone quietly into the night, he would probably catch a max 3-4 games suspension and then no harm, no foul. But he took it too far and it cost him everything. I don't condone his actions, although the cross was a money shot, I do not however believe that the punishment fits the crime.
IF you have ever been in Blounts situation at that very moment, then it is hard to just say "Throw the book at him!". All of us have been in a bar or something, and our girl just left us, we got a fat girl pregnant, just lost $5 LARGE on a .5 point or whatever, and "Tough Guy" at the bar says something dumb. You first reactions is "IT'S GO TIME BIG BOY" and you launch a Brock Lesner type attack. Once you pummel that guy, then every tough guy at the bar wants some of you, and guess where you end up? Right in LaGarrett Blounts shoes and you act just the way he did, it's your natural gut reaction, and don't say it isn't because it is. Now your sitting in a jail cell or court room and the judge has to figure out whether to give you probation or a nickle in a 6x6. He is taking into account everything from that night, and even though you were justified in your reaction, he does not take into account your emotional state at the time. This is key.
Raw emotion is a tough thing to control, and Blount lost his. I think that Oregon did the "Save Face" thing. Everyone would have questioned anything less. i don't think that ruining a young man's life over an emotional mistake is the answer. I hope that LaGarrett Blount sticks with football and does something great with his life. I hope the jackass from BSU has to have massive reconstructive surgery, gurgles when talks, and has to eat out of a straw for a month...and is suspended for at least 5 games. I hope that "The Punch" is the most viewed YOUTUBE video for the next 5 years. I hope he gets clowned everyday for this, because he is nothing more then a piece of trash. What he did to me is worst then what Blount did, minus the aftermath with the fans. Of course no one else will look at him the way I do, but it's the truth. Don't blame LaGarrett Blount for acting with instinctive raw emotion, blame the BSU player for starting the whole thing. That guy is the guy I teach my son about. IF he starts it with you, you whip his ass and make sure he remembers who you are. But IF you start it(which Blount DID NOT) you deserve what you get. Blount does not.
Enjoy,
Da GOAT

Open Mic response La Tech/Auburn breakdown with pick
WHO: AUBURN vs. LA TECH
WHEN: 9/05/09
WHERE: JORDAN-HARE STADIUM
CAPACITY: 88,000
"Talent" LEVEL: Solid 8
ALL TIME SERIES RECORD: 10-0-1
LAST MEETING: 52-7 Auburn in 2004
STREAKS: Auburn has won last 7 in a row
LINE OPEN: Auburn -13.5
LINE MOVEMENT: NONE
GOAT'S LEAN: Auburn-13.5
Auburn
This is the year that Gene Chizik is either a God or a "Wether". I have to admit that Chezik is taking a program that is a mess going just 5-7 last year, and looking to follow in Tuberville's footsteps. He was courted by Auburn after putting up mid boggling numbers at Iowa St. 5-19 @ Iowa St......... wait a minute?!?! Holy LaGarrett Blount Chuck Norris! This guy is garbage! That explains why Auburn is in the crapper. With this guy leading the charge, a season that can only be described as an "Oil Rig" fire is inevitable for the Tigers.....and it may start against LA TECH!
Chezik is known for being a defensive genius and his inherited defense held opponents to 18 points a game last year, good for 14th in the country. They did get SPANKED by BAMA last year(this has absolutely nothing to do with this game, just wanted to drop it in here!) 36-0. Auburn is return 7 starters on defense, with Zac Etheridge and Mike McNeil leading the way combining for 140 total tackles last year. The D-Line will have to plug some holes as they lost a tackle and nose guard to the NFL. Antonio Coleman will have to step up and led the way for the D-Line to have success this year. Craig Stevens and Josh Bynes lead a good group of linebackers that will be called upon a lot to help out against the run this year. The secondary is anchors by Walter McFadden, and they will need to create turnovers to keep Auburn in ballgames, especially deep into the SEC schedule. Stopping LA TECH'S offense may pose a good challenge to start the year.
Kodi Burns is back under the helm for Auburn this year, and I don't know if that's a blessing or a curse. Burns went 94-179 for 1050 and 2 TD's against 7 INTS. He also was second on the team in rushing with 98 attempts for 411 and another 5 scores. For this offense to be successful against LA TECH, Burn's will need to do just enough not to lose the game for Auburn, and with the departure of Rodger Smith, that may be a tall order. All eyes at Jordan-Hare will be on Ben Tate, the senior phenom who is on the Maxwell Award watch list this year. Tate, who did not have impressive numbers last year, will be asked to lead this team this year. He rushed for 664 yards on 159 carries and had 3 TD's. This offense will have to be able to get out of there own way to be successful, but with a good O-line and solid D, they should improve this year, maybe INSPITE of Gene Chezik.
LA TECH
Giant Killer LA TECH is not gonna go quietly in this game. Lead by 3rd year coach Derek Dooley, son of legend Vince Dooley, has taken this team in the right direction after taking over. He has improved every year, and even had the Bulldogs in a bowl game last year.
The stingy Bulldog defense ranked 13th in the country last year against the run, giving up just under 104 yards a game last year. "BOO" Smith, a 300 pound animal D-tackle anchors the run stopping defense. They will need to do great against the run, because they are horrible at stopping the past ranking next to dead last in the country last year. Not to make things any better is the secondary is still very young and has not matured like Dooley has hoped. The Bulldogs will also be looking for a return for a TD on special teams as they ranked #1 in the country at "BEAMER" ball last year.
Senior running back Daniel Porter who is on the Doak Walker Award watch list after rushing for 1,164 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior, will have the to be a leader on this offense for them to have any success especially against Auburn, as they will cut him NO slack. Ross Jenkins is under center again this year after doing just enough to rely on his defense to bail him out last year. He was a solemn 92 of 174 for 1155 yards and 7 TD'S against 3 INT'S. His favorite target Marko Mitchell is gone, so Chris Wellington will have to step up and help Ross out of jams, because he is sure to fine some against that Auburn Defense.
Quick Notes: If Auburn can find some offense and get to 30 pts. they are 118-2. If they can get to 20, they are still a strong 114-15 All time.
Auburn is 52-15 All time against NON-Conference opponents.
Auburn is 82-25 in regular season openers.
Auburn is 5-0 SU against LA Tech in there last 5 home games against LA Tech.
I think that Auburn better be careful in this game as LA TECH does have a chance to cover this ball game, but with so many questions on bth sides of the ball and a very hostile crowd that awaits at Jordan-Hare Stadium, I like the Tigers to cover this game.
Prediction:
28-10 Tigers

Open MIC and Picks
GOAT faithful,
I have been requested to breakdown the following:
La Tech/Auburn (09/05/09)
FSU/Miami (09/07/09)
N. Texas vs BAMA (09/19/09)
First, I must apologize to "Little Tommy Jefferson" as I did not get a chance to breakdown the N. Texas/Ball St. game for this evening, Da' GOAT (who is obviously still a "buckling") was with Mrs. GOAT(she a GOAT herder by trade) today. Da' GOATS are introducing a new GOAT to the always expanding GOAT family and gender issues were being resolved today. A "doeling" is being added to the GOAT family!
The Pick for this evening were sent out to the GOAT faithful, but in case you missed them (and they are already posted)...
South Carolina +5.5 (BTH) (CASHED)
USC +12
Troy PK (F**KED us)
Oregon +10.5
A special congratulations is in order for faithful follower "J" as he cashed the ML today on the SC game! Solid work young "wether"!
1-0 ATS this year
4-1 Teasers this year (to include posted pre-season NFL games)
La Tech/Auburn will be broken down Friday followed by FSU/Miami on Saturday (This game is on Monday) and N. Texas/BAMA will be broken down on Monday as Da GOAT will have had a chance to see both Bama and N. Texas play and will have better knowledge of both squads and hopefully a more accurate breakdown of that game.
Enjoy and happy hunting,
Da GOAT

Da Ducks vs. Da Broncos on the Smurf Turf
WHEN: Thursday Night
WHERE: Bronco's Stadium
CAPACITY: 30-34,000
"TALENT" Level: 7
NETWORK: ESPN
LINE: Boise St. +3.5
LEAN: Da Ducks+points, but skiddish on this one....
Last year Oregon took out the Boise St. Bronco's in Autzen stadium 37-32 for Boise St.'s only loss of the season last year. This year it may be a different story as the Ducks try to invade the smurf turf to take on the Bronco's for round II of a home and home series for these two high octane offensive programs.
Da DUCKS
First off, first year Head Coach's are 42% ATS all time in there first game, and that doesn't bowed well for Chip Kelly. He is starting his conquest as the leader of the the Ducks this year after Mike Bellotti stepped down to take the AD position. Kelly is very familiar with the program, calling the offense for many years below Bellotti and earning a #7 ranking in the country in offense averaging 484.9 yards a game last season. He has several weapons on the offense to maybe improve on that number and is returning 10 starters all together.
Jeremiah Masoli is back after throwing for over 1700 yards and 13 TD's before getting hurt. He is a smooth operator under pressure and can move around in the pocket if necessary. This may be good because the O-line has a combined 20 starts between all of them. Lagarrette Blount, the tater carrier, is back as well. He scampered for just over 1000 yards and 17 TD's last year. He will be the focal point in the back field this year getting 99% of the carries. He has great hands and can find open space out of the backfield, which maybe a good thing as Terence Scott, the Ducks leading receiver is gone. Picking up the slack is Ed Dickson who should give JM a great, big target on the outside and a nice route runner to boot. There is not a lot of depth at WR, so health is a big concern right no for Kelly at this position.
The defense should gel this year and will be tested early and often against the Bronco's. The LB's will be asked to anchor this unit and step up to stop the run as well as fall back into coverage if necessary. The Secondary will be key in this game, because Boise St. likes to chuck it around, and this unit was not a bright spot last year but improvement is on the horizon, and if they can create some big plays early, they can allow Kelly to rely on his offense to take care of business.
Da BRONCOS
Chris Peterson returns 13 starters, but the spotlight will be squarely on WAC Freshman of the Year Kellen Moore. Moore racked up some gaudy numbers last year as a freshman throwing for 3400 yards and 25 TD's. Moore lost his favorite target from a year ago in Jeremy Childs and 10th year senior Ian Johnson. Moore has 3 solid receivers coming back to help out with the spread attack and Jeremy Avery to do the work in the backfield. All that hinges on a starting front O-line that has several questions marks that WILL get tested against the Ducks. If Moore has to run for his life all night, then it may be a long night for the home team in "Tater Town".
The defense for Boise St. is STOUT (they don't play the toughest of schedules, but they do play nonetheless) ranking 3rd in the country last year averaging 12.6 points allowed last year. The most they gave up at home last year was 14 to Utah St....that gets a YO! The secondary is the heart of the defense with Kyle Wilson who will be a first round draft pick leading the way. They are a ball hawking hard hitting bunch, so Oregon better strap it up and come to play. The D-line was exposed against TCU last year giving up a HEFTY 275 yards rushing, and if they let Oregon run wild like that then they will get drug at their own place.
This should be a GREAT football game if you love lots of offense and very little defense. I like the Ducks right now, and that probably won't change, but the public is all over the Ducks and the public usually get slaughtered, so tread lightly.
Enjoy,
Da GOAT

This should be a GREAT football game if you love lots of offense and very little defense. I like the Ducks right now, and that probably won't change, but the public is all over the Ducks and the public usually get slaughtered, so tread lightly.
Enjoy,
